About

Welcome! We regularly post updates on our monthly meetings and community outreach events here. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram.

We meet on the second Thursday for monthly general meetings which are held from 7-9 PM either in our Members Only Facebook site as well in person at Old Spool Sewing Studio which is located at 617 Higgins Avenue, Brielle.   Open sews are set for other dates.   Members and guests meet from their own quilting studio at this time as well.

Drop us an email at jsmodernqg@gmail.com to find out more!  We can send you a guest password to attend one of our meetings.

We are a judgement free group, a mix of young and old, experienced and novice quilters, who love blending traditional and modern techniques.  Our guild has a strong focus on charity efforts and use our quilting to support various groups throughout Monmouth County. If you decide to become a member of the guild after spending time with us, yearly dues are $40, with a $10 new member fee (only applies your first year) and it  includes national modern quilt guild membership and access to all of their online resources, forums, and webinars.

We’d love to have you join us!! Stop by during open sew and say HI!

  3. I’m a former quilter, but am unable to continue due to arthritis in my hands.  I have a large mahogany quilting frame and a smaller wooden frame that I can no longer use. Both are completely adjustable to accommodate from queen-sized to baby quilts, the kind of frame that members of a guild can sit around, socialize, and hand-quilt. The frames are not really shippable, but I noted that your latest edition of Quiltfolk features New Jersey quilters. I live in Forked River, NJ, so I thought I’d reach out to see if anyone nearby is interested in the frame. Both are free to a good home! Please email me if interested.
